First Haircuts

I took Madi to Cookie Cutters for her first haircut on April 5. Nothing wrong with waiting for the first haircut until she's 4years and 8months old.  (smile)  They have a package where you get a certificate with a picture and a lock of hair as well as the cut. Not that I wouldn't be taking my own pictures but the certificate was a nice touch. Rawley, Aunt DeeDee and Nana came with us. Madi did great. They had several animal/transportation chairs to pick from and she went with the yellow duck like her Duckie at home from Uncle David. When the lady offered a movie as well Madi was sold!

I just had them cut her hair straight across slightly longer than her shoulders. I wasn't adventurous enough to try layers this first time around. A month later and her hair really does need the layers to bring the curl out but oh well, always next time. Right after her haircut Madi had her first school friend birthday party...and it was a boy's! Ack. More on that later.

On the duckie, talking about how short to go. Look at how long her hair is!

Enthralled with her movie.

Then Rawley went for his first haircut last Saturday, May 3. I only waited 14months for his! It was between the tractor and the race car for his seat. The others were way to open for a squirming little boy! Although Rawley did very well. His movie was a Baby Einstein which I don't think he's ever seen, at least not at home. That kept his attention for a while. The stylist started on his right side and about halfway through his head Rawley was done and wanted to get up. She did a great job cutting while he was on the move trying to stand up or reaching for me. Nothing like having baby hair in your hand, scissors on their way to cut and the kid jerking his head back. I have to say, those stylists are quick with the scissors! Rawley wasn't too sure about the cape so he kept pushing that out of the way and dumping the hair in his lap. Eh, it brushes off! I think he looks so much older with the new haircut.
