Sleep: Comes and goes. I've tried Tylenol PM and it's not much help. Doc recommended buying a recliner to read or surf the net then nap in when possible. Doubt we'll do that but if we had one I'm sure I'd give it a try. The other suggestion was a glass of wine. Now that I might try.
Best moment: Passed the glucose test!! Ffn test was also negative - should have two more weeks of cookin'.
Miss Anything? Church, sermons online just aren't the same. And I miss bringing/picking up Madi from school.

This was the summary after my 3-hour glucose test that I never posted last Thursday:
Blood pressure
continues to be elevated but I've been tracking it at home at least
twice a day. Doc was okay with the readings I've been getting. He did
say that it'll probably be high blood pressure that causes us to deliver
around 36 weeks. It's not good for me to have that high of BP for an
extended time. It's only impacting me, little guy's still rockin' it!
Had my 3-hr glucose test on Thursday. Don't care to do that again. The 4
blood draws nearly put me over the edge. My left arm was bruised from
the draw the week before so when the tech went to draw from it again,
couldn't stand the pain. So we were counting on my right arm for the
remaining three draws. Go figure, right arm gave out for the 3rd draw.
No food since dinner the night before plus lady
was digging around repositioning the needle and I about passed out. Had
to lay down and breathe deep for a bit. She went to get a smaller
needle and we tried it again but had to move to my left arm. I was
pretty much done at that point - two sore arms and one more draw to go.
Said a quick prayer that attempt #4 would go without a hitch and that
I'd pass the test. Not sure I could handle adding another set of shots
to our routine.
And here's today's report from the doctor's office:
I passed the glucose test!! My fasting blood sugar level was good, failed the one hour test but my two and three hour readings were good. 3 out of 4 means I passed. Wheh. Thank you Lord.
Today doc said the nonstress test looked really good. They're checking to make sure that whenever he moves/kicks or I have a contraction that the placenta and sac are still "communicating" well and passing oxygen. With higher blood pressure I could already be limiting the oxygen flow to the placenta so if his heart rate were to drop significantly during a contraction or movement then we could be discussing delivery as prolonged drops like that would affect his growth and safety. Learning more every week! My blood pressure was 138/84 and other than a few higher readings that's what I've been getting at home. Those are pretty good and way better than 145/90 or higher.
I mentioned I still wasn't sleeping well and Tylenol PM doesn't seem to help. Guess what doc recommended ... a glass of wine! Seriously?!? He did clarify that means a regular sized glass, not one of those half-bottle sized glasses. Might give that a try. Doc said that was a better option than a shot of Nyquil. (said I was real tempted to try that on the really bad nights) Dupler made a comment about my weight plateauing which wasn't a big deal cuz little squirt will take what he needs from me first. I'm not sure if the plateau is a good thing or bad thing but at this point, if they're not threatening a hospital stay - I'm doing just fine!
I've had a headache since Saturday that doesn't seem to go away with Tylenol. I called on Monday as that was one of the things Mernitz told me to watch for. Doc on call and Dupler today said it could be a variety of things. Since the nonstress test was good he wasn't as concerned. If vision changes, swelling increases or I start to feel off let them know. When Dupler suggested trying a little caffeine he was surprised to learn I was allergic to caffeine - causes migraines for me. "Wow, most migraine medicines have caffeine because it treats headaches well." Yeah I know, preaching to the choir. Learned the hard way with Excedrin Migraine one time. He asked if I was dehydrated and I had to apologize for laughing. If there's one thing my friends and family would get right in a "How well do you know Reeda" contest it would be that I drink water constantly. To the point of great teasing.
Nothing really new this week so we'll repeat the same thing again next week - nonstress test, chat with doc and next week we'll do another Ffn test.
Had to include this pic cuz it's so cute. Madi said "I cold." and asked to put on her duckie. She has a big stuffed chicken from Uncle David so we thought that was what she was talking about but Madi meant her Halloween costume from two years ago. So on it went!
