Rawley 6 months

 

Weight: 16lbs 14oz    40th percentile
Length: 26.5     50th percentile
Head:  43.5cm

Teeth: still working on them!

Hair: still fairly red and getting longer. The hairs he's had since birth are like a little combover. They're so much longer than the rest!
Sleeping:  We had a little setback while on vacation in Key West but he's getting back to his normal which is 6-8hrs then every 3hrs. Sunday night he slept from 9p til 6a. Mom didn't wake up either. Ouch! (see below)
Eating:  Mostly bottle fed but I'm still pumping. Started cereal and fruits/veggies about a month ago. Wasn't too keen on stuff from a spoon at the get-go which really means he absolutely hated it. He's getting better but still prefers to suck for a full belly. Trying to give him solids at room temperature so we're not stuck trying to find a way to warm it up when out and about.
Movement:  rolls front to back and back to front - new development while on vacation, loves loves loves to jump, could easily dress him in a Tigger outfit for Halloween,
Milestones: will suck his thumb, as well as other fingers, transfers toys from one hand to the other, will look around to find you when hearing your voice, explores everything
Favorite Toys: still doesn't have a favorite toy, everything goes in his mouth, really likes to suck on Buddy's nose (you can imagine that Madi's not too happy about that)
Words/sounds:  has started laughing especially when you tickle on his chest just inside his arm pits, baby babble with a lot of the same sounds
Sizes:  doesn't really wear shoes, or socks for that matter, but clothing sizes are 3-6 months except for shorts, those are still 0-3. 3-6 shorts are sooo long they're like capris and men don't wear capris. Onesies and sleepers were stretched to the max on length in the 0-3 sizes.


This weekend Brielle and Rawley were chatting with each other at Rachel's wedding. Rawley was intrigued by another small person and was babbling at her, Brielle was somewhat captivated for a bit then looked away like "save me from this guy!" I love to watch Rawely's long hairs blow in the breeze, cracks me up that they're so much longer than the rest of his hair. Still has a little spot in the back with less hair, due to lying on his back a lot during the day?? He tolerates his carseat awesome. 5-hour treks aren't such a great idea but he's gotten past the go-rod-straight-phase when trying to get him in his seat. Speaking of his carseat, it's getting pretty heavy to lug around. Big man's filling out! Continue to get lots of questions about his hemangioma if he happens to be shirtless or sleeveless. I don't think it's gotten bigger for a while but it's definitely heart shaped. The spots I've tried to rub off on his head numerous times must be freckles cuz they're not going anywhere! He has Kindred toe nails, curl up on the ends. Sorry little man. He's very flirtatous and gives big smiles to almost everyone we meet. I bought a Sophie the giraffe teether since it seems everyone raves about how it's the best thing for teething babies. Rawley couldn't care less about it. Oh well.
